SPRAYER COLOR CODING

It is important never to switch between insecticide and herbicide use in the same sprayer. Also it is convenient to dedicate individual sprayers to a particular purpose, especially since often not all of the spray may be used the same day.

My answer is color coding the sprayers by function. Simply wrap masking tape around the sprayer and spray paint the chosen color in a band, then remove the tape. Then use a magic marker to indicate the usage as well. The color band allows you to spot the desired sprayer from across the garden, which can save you steps.

In addition, each time you change the specific mix in insecticides/fungicides you should also attach a cardboard tag, such as the one pictured below on the sprayer at the far left, on which you record the chemicals used and the date mixed.
